Alright heres the story. The truck has about an 1/8th of a tank of gas, so we fill it up, ten minutes down the road we realize the fuel gauge reads empty and the fuel light is on. so we figure the gas station ripped us off and the pump didn't pump any fuel. Then before getting turned around the Gauge reads full.

two days later truck drives perfect all day no gas gauge issues, 10:30 pm leaving a friends house and the truck just cranks, no start. quite dark and no tools, so i check for spark-good. I stick my ear in the filler neck no noise from the fuel pump, so I check the interia switch, no difference, check schrader valve lots of fuel comes out at first but eventually all the pressure is gone an nothing comes out. we decide its late we will try it up tommorow and get a ride home.

Tommorow truck starts fine no problems since

So my question is if the fuel pump stops pumping will the injectors stop injecting if there is still pressure in the fuel line? I found it odd that for there would be fuel pressure in the fuel line when the pump stopped pumping

this leads me to believe that the problem may not be the pump itself, although I wouldn't be surprized.

put a pressure gauge on the schrader valve, 20 psi will squirt lots of fuel in your face, but it won't start the engine, needs 35-40

Trade out the fuel pump relay in the relay box for another one within the box- they act all intermittent when they go and it is kind of a common problem. If it fixes it buy a new relay. Relay box is under the hood driver's side near the master cylinder.
