tail lamp problem

Notied that my tail lights are out(the ones you see at night). Every other light in the rear works. What is the color of the wire that runs these or where should i start to figure the problem out??
 
Did you check the bulbs...?
 
Yeap. I just dont know why mine would start doing this. I ran it right from the battery just to see how bright it would be and asked my friend with an 86 to turn his on to compare. and it turns out his does the same thing. So if anyone know you would be helping out two people.
 
Corrosion in the bulb sockets?
 
On my ranger the tail light wire is brown... The tag lights are also on the same brown wire. Do those work?
 
i looked through the book and noticed the same thing. i just spliced the one at the tail light with the one for the plate light. Work good. now have to do it for my friend. Thanks for all the help.:icon_thumby:
