does a 2001 ranger suppose to have a remote for the anti theft thing, and door locks??? If so where can I get one for my truck??

Morning:
I have a 2001 and when I bought it the dealer told me it had remote but he did not get it from the former owner. I would have to get a remote ,"on-line" and program it. I think if you have one of those PATS keys you do and all you have to do is ck on E-Bay and get one for 10-15 dollars.
