This is my first experience with replacing a clutch with the slave cylinder in the bell housing. I'm not sure how to replace the throw out bearing into this spring loaded sleeve deal. Can someone give me some clue what to do here? It is the 5 speed.

I'll attach what I have and what the new clutch kit includes. My clutch was slipping really badly and the bearing was rattling like crazy. Cant attach photos?

thanks for any info. i need to get this thing back together.

If remembering serves me right, the throwout bearing locks to the slave cylinder by pushing the bearing onto the slave cyl (compressing the spring) and turn it till it locks in the grooves. But if it was me I would replace the slave cylinder at this time too. The new cylinder comes with the throwout bearing installed onto it!! Yes you would have a extra throwout bearing but I would say that the slave is shot also. Just my 2cents:D

Yeah how do you know if the slave is shot? I'm wanting to avoid buying a slave....yet another $100.....

Anyone....can you test it when its off the tranny, somehow?

no way to really test it, look and see if it is leaking anywhere.

a heads up for you on bleading it tho, once you get the trans up and very close like 1/8-1/4 onch away, blead it, then tighten up the trans, the pedal feal will be much better.
