3.0 to 4.0
What about wiring issues? I am working on a 98 Mazda B3000 and turns out this motor is really bad. Several spun rods and 2 rusted cylinder, possibly some damaged connecting rods and at least 1 bad piston. I'm doing this for another vehicle in return for my expenses and labor. But as I'm slowly finding out the vehicle I'm suppose to be getting in return has problems of its own. So I'm looking at the least expensive way possible to put a motor in and be done. Problem now is finding a motor, mainly since I can't quite decipher all this tranny and block configurations. I found a 95 Taurus with a running 3.0 for $125 and after all I have read I believe it should bolt in place of the 3.0 I pulled. They also have a 92 3.8 from a cougar which if I understand the engine swap details , it should also fit. According to the manual this B3000 has a 4R44E tranny. I have also read about the 4.0 being swappable? If I bolt on all external engine parts will it hook right up to the 4R44? There is also a 98 Mustang 3.8 I could get for $200 but since I looking to go cheap if the 95 Taurus 3.0 will work then that's the route I'll be going. If anyone could give me some feedback on this would be great. mean while I'm going to read somemore in the Tech section. This experience should at least help me further down the road. I have an 07 Mustang with 4.0 that I would eventually like to do a swap up to something with a little more rumble to it.
