I figures I would post up an update on the Mazda as it's been awhile since I last posted.
I've been driving the truck for about three months now and it has run flawless. The reliability and driveability of the truck have way exceeded my expectations.
I've added a 8.8 4.10 rear end in the last month and that has helped alot. The only drawback is the performance, I expected a little better from it. if I had to guess I would say it's mid-high 14 sec. truck right now. I have a cobra intake coming in soon that will replace the low flowing stock intake. I might bring it to the track this fall.

The only things visible that give a clue as to something else lurking under the hood than a 4-banger.

The interior consists of a modified explorer console and the original mazda seats with the middle seat removed.
