Hey guys, I may have monkeyed up again (nothing new) when I was replacing a water pump last week. Being the genius I am, I wanted to completely remove the AC system since the truck is a beater and I don't want to sink the money into it for a new compressor and all. I thought the extra room would be nice, better cooling system efficiency, perhaps better mileage.
So, it appears my grounding issue is with the WOT cut out relay.
I'll try to make this easy to read:
Code 542: Fuel Pump ground, PCM to motor.
The fuel pump is connected (took the bed off to make sure).
The fuel pump starts when I connect hot/ground to it.
The relays work.
I have not been able to bypass either the WOT cut out relay or the fuel pump relay with Key On.
I removed the AC condenser, pressure switches, etc. initially, but have since reconnected them to test. (Well, not the condenser.)
I'll spend the next while reading the schematics on this site, since my *cough* Haynes manual is sorely useless and someone has 'borrowed' my Chilton's, but has anyone run into this before?
Why does the grounding issue continue with the components and the connectors back in place?
How could I bypass the WOT cut out relay so I can remove the AC components?
I appreciate any feedback you guys have.
