I've got a 98 4x4 ext cab and the tank crossmembers are shot where the attach to the fame on both sides.....I've tried jy and they're about the same condition as mine.....anubody fabbed any or have ideas on other xmembers that can be fitted? East coast Canada and alot of salt in the winter is enough to rust just about anything I guess.

cheers,

John

thats a real common area for them to rust-lots of places for mud or sand to hide and hold moisture.before going too far, check the rest of the frame, especially where the crossmember joins it,as it is usually pretty thinned out-you may be wasting your time on it.a small ball peen hammer is good for checking it;you can hit a good frame as hard as you want without worry,if material flakes off and you leave dents or holes-game over.
