so i want to lift my 91 explorer just a little bit for better ground clearance, looks, and blah blah blah. i got skyjacker 2'' coils for the front and was thinking about doing a soa until i figured out that it would be too much lift, but i was just pondering the idea of doing a soa using 2wd ranger leaf springs, that would give me the added ground clearance but it wouldnt make it too tall in the rear, so what do you guys think? is it doable?? or should i pursue a different route???

most people do a shackle lift for an inch or two or an add a leaf

its pretty much the same thing as putting an explorer axle in a ranger as far as flipping the perches. i think that it would give you about 5 inches of lift but im not sure how much the 2wd springs would lower you back down. you might need to adjust the shock mounts though and figure out how to make the sway bar work if you want to keep it.

and SOA in an explorer will give you 4" of lift. I wouldn't recomend putting 2wd ranger springson an ex especially if its a 4 door.

im just trying to get the most possible ground clearance with about 2 inches of lift, i really dont want the u-bolts hanging down below the axles, im probaly going to have to put together my own spring pack, use an explorer main leaf and then just stick some different combinations together and see where it sits....
