Hey folks...

I just installed some new KCs driving lights unto my front bumper (130 watt day-lighters) and I have it setup right now to only come on with my high beams on. Basically I spliced a wire into my high beam wire and ran it through a switch then onto the relay, when the switch is on and my high beams are on, the KC's will come on.

I am trying to rig up a way to flip a switch in the cab and be able to use my KCs without my head lights on, and be able to flip it back to running with my high beams. I basically need a switch that has two power inputs and one output, and the switch would need to alternate between them.

Does anyone know if this exists or not??

what you want is a double pole double throw switch. it'll have 6 contacts on the bottom side and the switch will have 3 positions.

heres a quick diagram that will give you what you want...lights on in one position, off in the second position, and "auto" (on with the high beams) in the 3rd position.

Three position switch??

A single pole double throw will work. Center pole to light relay, power source to one of the other poles, and headlight circuit to the remaining pole. shady

Absolutely. You can connect all the lights permanently at the ground side and then switch the hot side using an SPDT switch like shady says.

Thanks allot! That helps allot, the diagram was very helpful. Were can I find double a throw switch at?

i dont know why i was thinking youd need a double pole :dntknw:

shady is right though, a single pole double throw (three connections under it) would work just dandy
