I HAVE A 94 RANGER 2.3L 5 SPEED AND I NOTICE THAT HEAT FROM THE EXHAUST IS COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE GEAR SHIFTER WHERE IT IS MOUNTED TO THE FLOOR. IS THERE SOME TYPE OF GASKET THAT NEEDS TO BE PLACED TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING? ANY TAKERS....:dntknw:

Bad exhaust. Check your pipes.

Is there some type of gasket that i can put around the gear shift to seal the exhaust from coming through?

Nope.
All there is is a shifter boot that bolts to the floor under the carpet.
Fix your exhaust ;-)

I have the shift boot i just took it off to see what was going on. I went to oreilly auto parts and bought some gaskets sheets for exhaust and sealed it up that way so i will road test and see how it works....

The rubber around the shift linkage seals the area just above the ball.
Thats what your showing torn away in the pic.
Its bolts from the inside in about a 1 foot square UNDER the carpet via steel frame.
The only way to get at it is to pull up the carpet.

There are actually two boots. The cosmetic shaft cover and the shift linkage cover. The linkage cover is what it torn away on your truck.
