Someone on this forum had issues with a thermostat housing that did NOT fit the 2.0L 4 banger.

Anyone know who that was? My Thermostat housing is leaking, tried everything, I got to replace it and don't want to get a mismatched part.

I was one... '87 2.0L. The part that doesn't fit is by a company named "Four Seasons". When you change the housing, just compare the bolt hole locations relative to your original part. What I would suggest is checking the wrecking yards for a 2.0L and getting either that thermostat housing or if you have the spare cash, check with your local ford dealer. They *might* have one in stock that isn't up on the dealership network. If you go that aftermarket route tho, check those bolt hole locations and also line up the gasket. If you get a four seasons one, you'll see what I mean. :p

Great, thank you.:icon_thumby:

One thought I had on mine, but didn't have to resort to it, was...

If you really run into a deadend trying to find a replacement, and the hose connections are in good condition, you could probably take your original one to a machine shop and have them fab and weld a new base plate and pretty much recondition it... and if you find a decent shop, it might not run all that much.

I wonder, does "Four Seasons" go by any other name? I noticed that each auto store has their "own brand" of outlet housings, (Balkamp for NAPA, Autozone is "compressor works") and they pretty much LOOK THE SAME on the websites.
