need to know will 04 explorer dash work in my 99 ranger

Drove a customers 04 explorer the other day and fell in love with the interior, now i want to find a wreck and pull it for my 99 project. how much modifying will i have to do.
 
almost impossible.
the exploer seems to be wider for a start.
 
thanks rsh. If I find one cheap I may see how much modifying it will reguire to get it looking right for fun. I like to try the impossible for the hell of it. just won't molest my dash in case I need it.

Explorer Sport or Sport Trac, but they are the same as you already have...
 
You know what they say with the right tool anything can fit. more concerned with the electrical difference.
 
A LONG time ago, someone posted a late-model buildup where he transplanted all the Explorer electronics into a Ranger. Floor and overhead consoles, electronic climate control, power seats, the works. I don't remember if that included the dash itself. So it can be done. Get out your tape measure.

When I got my first Sport Trac in '05 the first thing I noticed was how much more comfy the seats were than the ones in my Ranger.
