Can you hook up audio cables to the stock deck?

i wana put a sub in my truck but dont really want to install a new deck. alot of cars get broken into where im at and i want to keep it looking low profile interior. does anyone know if i can hook up the audio cables to the stock deck on a 2000 ranger w/ cd?

Gonna let you in on a little warning... subs are a sure-fire "eye-grabber" for thieves. My last ranger got broken into from the sunroof, they got nowhere though.

i don't think those are really eye candy anymore, mainly because almost EVERYONE puts in an aftermarket deck into a car... so they are basically a very often seen thing now. good luck, and the audio forum has a lot of help for you if you need it.

yeah ive heard u lose some sound fidelity using those.
i went with a pioneer headunit on mine cuz of that. besides i can play MP3s now

I use a ken wood head unit, with detachable face and all. It plays mp3 CDs and stuff, and has the aux Jack for my iPod. Its legit, and sounds great

Word, not long after putting a new head unit in my ranger during highschool it got broken into in the parking lot of my highschool during a basketball game. They busted the window and tried stealing the head unit, but they must have ran off before they could get the unit off, because all they got was the face plate and remote control. Still pissed me off. The face and remote cost as much as the whole unit plus the damn shattered window.
