I'm rebuilding a junkyard Dana 35 for a swap, and I'm at the point of working with the ball joints. I've seen many people say the Harbor Freight tool is a god-send for the job, but now which one do I get?

There's this one -> http://www.harborfreight.com/four-wheel-drive-ball-joint-service-kit-4065.html for $49.99

But then there's this one -> http://www.harborfreight.com/3-in-1-ball-joint-u-joint-c-frame-press-service-kit-38335.html which looks like the same thing with maybe a couple extra sizes?

I like the idea of saving 10 bucks, but does the cheaper one not work on our vehicles?

Thanks,
Chris

i used the cheaper one on the lower ball joints on my 00 and it worked good, just need a hammer to go along with it so spend the extra couple bucks on a hammer and you should be good haha

i work at autozone and we loan that entire set out for free

I forgot about something like that, though I'll probably go ahead a buy anyway, I like to have stuff around. Besides, if I rent it I can't look cool for having it when someone wants to borrow it :icon_twisted:

the cheap one, i did ball joints in my d28 with it just fine. btw, the 'free' loaner at autozone is like $100 for the same exact thing. you just get your money back when you return it.
