any one ever had any problems with autozone's greatneck tools?

i bought a greatneck torque wrench. was torqueing down the valve cover bolts on the exploder. i heard a click so i back off, went for another click and heard none. so i kept goin and snap.

then the next bolt i turned it down to 120 ft lbs. and no click just a snap.

the 3rd bolt i got to 165 ft. lbs. torque then i turned the wrench down to 120 ft lbs. and no click. yet again another snap.

gotta go get a damn tap and die set or an easy fix to pull them out =(, idk if ill shop at autozone again

well, I don't think the problem is the torque wrench, valvecover bolts are torqued in INCH pounds. The head bolts arent even meant to be torqued that much

lmao my bad i ment inch pounds i was thinkin of something else.

i never use torque wrenches on valve cover bolts for this exact reason.. cause guess what? i've broken bolts with the $400 snap on techwrench

its better to just do it by feel.
