i have a 1994 mazda b4000 with the 4.0 ranger engine and the check engine light comes on after a few minutes driving . did a check and came up with code 335,( egr sensor voltage out-of range ) any ideas of cause or way to fix ? thanks.

First and easiest... make sure the plug is clean and completely seated with the mating plug. Clear the code and if it returns... I think there is a "how to" in the tech section about how to properly clean the egr. Carbon build-up is a very common culprit

Try cleaning it first before spending on a new one. Just fill it with sea foam and leave it soaking for an hour or so... That might save you a buck or two

I just got done dealing with code 332...tried everything, finally had to break down and drop 140$ on a new sensor. Talk about bent over....sheesh.

It's almost always the sensor. It is regularly exposed to a nasty nasty environment and is still a fairly delicate piece of equipment. Try cleaning it out with seafoam and/or brake clean, and if that still doesn't work then you are stuck getting a new one.

replace sensor

was it the dpfe sensor you replaced to fix code 335 ?

Yeah, DPFE should do it.
