Ive been having an issue lately with my duraspark overheating and started checking voltages. Power going to the box and coil is pretty weak. I noticed that when the truck is running, If i turn the key switch slightly, inbetween run and start, everything lights up brighter, tach goes to where it should and spark is much stronger. I replaced duraspark box, coil, and ignition switch.

What else could cause this? Voltage regulator perhaps? Why does it get more ower with the key in that position vs run?

set it to the point where your getting your low voltage and start testing the wire back to the fuse panel, pay great attention to the connectors around the firewall, any bit of corrosion on a connector can cause resistance, and check the fusible links as well. good luck and happy hunting

wires going through firewall are all definitly good. There is about 9 wires I think that the ignition switch plugs into, which one is the one I'm looking for? I cant find much online here at work. Will try some more searching when I get home tonight, and I'm going to switch the VR out just to see if that could be the issue.
