Looking at a welder

not a bad deal, need a tank for it though

I have one a lot like that, I really like it. Welds like crap with flux core though.

Sno, if you decide to buy it, I'll go with you to pick it up. You'll blow right through Manchester, NH on your way up to Canterbury!

Heck, I'll even buy lunch!

Is that 220 volts ?
140 amps @ 220volts will work out great but if this is a 110volt setup think again.
INHO...

Little 110V Mig works great, even with flux core. I use mine on exhaust pipes and such.

Get it. I think that's a $500+ welder. For "normal repairs" with household current it's good. However it is not designed for anything over 1/8 mild steel. ...and yes you will need a co2/argon tank to do any clean mig welding. A simple rule to remember- the higher the duty clcle the better the welder. That one is 15-25%. My MM140 from snap on is 100% duty cycle, but it cost 15X what that guy is asking. Plus when you outgrow that one in a year, you should be able to re sell it for $300.

That will be a great first Welder to learn on.
As you learn it will do more than people will give it credit for.
Get a bottle of 75/25,flux core sucks!

I got a Hobart 135 "110v @ 20 amps" works GREAT.:icon_welder:

I have that same welder, I like it a lot. It welds nicely with both gas and flux-core. It does everything I need it to.

And I believe it is rated up to 5/16 mild steel (with flux-core), not just 1/8.

oh well, he already sold it. the search goes on.

Figures, that was the, price, and one of the brands im looking for.

Thanks for the comments guys!
