Been wanting to learn how to weld for a while, so ive been looking at welders. Came across this one today, what do you guys think?

eventually, ill just start out with some flux core. i wont be welding anything thin nor do i care what my weld look like as long as they hold

I have one a lot like that, I really like it. Welds like crap with flux core though.

Little 110V Mig works great, even with flux core. I use mine on exhaust pipes and such.

Get it. I think that's a $500+ welder. For "normal repairs" with household current it's good. However it is not designed for anything over 1/8 mild steel. ...and yes you will need a co2/argon tank to do any clean mig welding. A simple rule to remember- the higher the duty clcle the better the welder. That one is 15-25%. My MM140 from snap on is 100% duty cycle, but it cost 15X what that guy is asking. Plus when you outgrow that one in a year, you should be able to re sell it for $300.

I have that same welder, I like it a lot. It welds nicely with both gas and flux-core. It does everything I need it to.
And I believe it is rated up to 5/16 mild steel (with flux-core), not just 1/8.
