I purchased a ranger very recently and was just looking it over and noticed the upper ball joint on the pas. side is really bad and the lower one on the drivers side is bad but not even close to the other side. Just wondering how hard of a job it is. I looked in the tech section and it did seemed fairly complex, is this the case and how long should I account for doing each side. Also should I do both while am at it.

Thanks in advance

just take your time and it will be fine,it took me fours for the first side and hafe that for the other.i would do both since you will be in there,if you have the time.my passenger side was really bad and driver was fine so i just did both sides any wayz just so i knew they were all good and they wont need to be changed for a good while..good luck.

Sorry it a 94 4L 4x4. This is my first 4x4, I had a 90 4x2 before but in the time I had it I never did suspension stuff on it. It died cause the tranny went.
Does everything need to come off or can you do it in place.

If one ball joint on each side is bad, then replace them all while you're in there. Pay attention as to the order in which they come out and reverse that when you're putting them back together. One has to go in before the other, due to the way that the ball joint press has to sit.

with the TTB its really not that bad, just rent a ball joint press and have fun getting that spindle off.
