I was wondering if a Mallory Performance ignition module, or a Accel Performance ignition module, is suppose to noticably increase a 2.9 engine's acceleration, or power performance, over using a stock ignition module...

does anyone know, or have any first hand experience, by having replaced a 2.9's stock ignition module, with either a Mallory Performance ignition module, or a Accel Performance ignition module...

if you were able to notice an increase in your 2.9's engine performance... which one is better, in your opinion, between using the Mallory Performance ignition module, or the Accel Performance ignition module...

I wouldn't waste my money. The stock ignition system is plenty adequate for a stock or nearly stock motor when it is functioning correctly.

Accel 300+ System

I have been using the Accel 300+ system in my 87 Ranger, 2.9L, 4x4, 5 speed, 5" lift, 32" rubber for over 10 years; I saw an increase in mpg, started quicker and corrected a sort of stumble that it had at approximently 2700 rpm. I bought it shortly after its introduction and reccommed it fully!
