Hey guys, I'm getting a used camper shell tomorrow for my short bed. My question is how do I attach it if it has a bedliner that goes over the rails?

With clamps made for the purpose.

How to: Camper Shell with bed liner?

Edit: Oops, bedliner that goes over the rail? I guess the bedliner needs to come out.

My bed liner has holes cut in it for the clamps to slide in. Looks like they used like a 2" hole saw.

You should be able to get clamps big enough for that, there shouldn't be any reason to have to remove any part of your bed liner...

Does the bed liner follow the contour of the inside lip of the bed? Seems unlikey to me.

I used the clamps from my roll up tonneau cover when I borrowed a matching red topper for my 99 Ranger for a weekend once. They worked out perfect!!

I cut the upper lip off of my old one because even with holes, and clamped down as tight as possible, it always would slide a little. Or go buy a under the rail bed liner.

I cut holes in my bedliner...not very pretty, but it works...

At first I clamped the liner itself on when I didn't have any weight in the back because it kept lifting...but I can now put on a cap if I wanted one...

Why don't you just BOLT it down, then it gets coverage by your insurance, since it will be a PERMANENT part of the vehicle.
