My reverse lights aren't working. The bulbs are good, and the fuse is good. I'm guessing there's an issue with the switch on my transmission (M5OD). Where is the switch located and what does it look like? Any tips on how to troubleshoot this?

Thanks!

The switch is in the side of the trans, near the top, on the driver's side (I think, might be passenger). The best way to test if the switch is bad is to unplug it, then take a piece of wire and jumper if (key in run) and see if the backup lights come on. If they do, bad switch.

Switch has 2 wires running to it, it's the only set of wires that run into the top area of the trans.

If not, make sure you have power at the switch.

Thanks. It's the one on the driver's side. Turns out the wire has come loose from a solder joint about 6 inches from the switch. I jumped that and my lights came on. It looks like I'll just have to rejoin those two pieces of wire. Thanks for the quick response!

BTW, welcome to TRS! Pull up a chair, grab a cold drink  :icon_pepsi: and watch your head for low-flying BS!

Hop, you need to just put that in your sig.

Thanks for the welcome. I've actually been around for awhile. I'm just not too active. Plus I had to create a new username since I wasn't able to get in with my old one a couple years ago.

 back at ya
