Hey guys, i just bought an 85b2 and it didnt come with the factory roof rack, but the guy gave me the one off another bronco, i have all the rails and everything im wondering, how do i install it? im wanting to use the factory rails with a rocky road roof rack, do i drill holes and bolt the rails on or what? im clueless

The factory rails do appear to be screwed down to the roof with 4 screws along the channel (I can take a pic of it if you want). Not sure I can help you with attaching your Rocky Road rack to them though...

Roof rack

First find a Bronco 2 with a rack, take measerments and transfer them to yours.Put the rack together and tighten it up to make sure it is squared.Mark your holes and drill them, make sure your sheet metal screws have heads that will clear the slide tabs.I used black gasket sealer in the rack holes and screw them in by hand so you don't over thead the holes. Also what I did is went to the JY and found a Aerostar and got 5 cross supports and all the hardware.Cut one side to lenth and drill a new hole for the end piece. And you should be good to go!

i already have a factory roof rack from another b2, and 1 cross support, guess ill try to put it on sometime this week. would riveted in nutserts be better?

The rivets would work as well. The factory rack I beleive has a 200 lb. weight limit. There are gutter caps below the roof that runs the whole lenth of the rack tracks. make sure you don't drill thru them.good luck
