1996 2.3, 5 speed, 2wd, single cab (if that makes a difference), roughly 140k miles.

I had my check engine light come on last week. I took it down to the auto parts store and had them run the codes. It came up with a problem with the auxiliary emission control...anyone know what that is?

I'm not really worried about it since the truck runs fine, the gauges read fine, and my mileage has not been effected. I would really like to fix whatever it is myself rather than take it to a shop, so I was really hoping someone would know what it was.
thanks in advance,
Jake

what was the actual code#?

Its the EVAP system. Check your vaccum lines going to the charcoal canistar under the hood. And any other lines going from the charcoal cansitar. The lines are know to rot.

99's Evap cannister will be by the spare tire. Inspect its tubing.

Replace the gas cap if its seal is bad.
