can't copy music cd?

the future wife has some songs on a black I peas cd that i want to put on my phone......but i go to copy and all it is is a short cut file....is it some kind of anti copy thing...if so how do i go around it....

if i have to i will just download the damn thing from lime wire or something. but i dont to "steal" it

when you pop in the cd, you should be able to like go to my computer and double click on your cd drive, and it should start playing them in iTunes, windows media player, etc...

maybe you can drag and drop them somewhere permanently? idk i've never had that problem... like if you have the cd, i've always been able to transfer songs to my iTunes or w/e so that i can have a digital copy, idk how you can't...

DRM on a CD can usually be defeated by plcing the CD in the open drive tray
and holding down the shift key while the CD "loads"
