So I just changed the upper/lower hoses and T-stat, put the truck back together and take it for a ride. Everything was going good until the battery light came on. It's an older Optima battery, but seems to be holding a charge just fine. I put a tester on it and it's at 12.63v. When the truck is idling or revving, it's at 14.4v. It doesn't appear to be the battery, regulator, or alt.??? Any ideas?

BTW, it's a 1996 4.0L.

Is the battery light on continuously now or is it intermitant? Does the battery light flicker or glow bright? From the history you gave, my guess is you bumped and loosened a wire or cable while changing the hose and t-stat. The behaviour of the battery light will help indicate which wire. Is the alt belt tight enough?
