Ok I have a 98 b2500 with 200,200 miles on it

It currently has an engine idle problem and is in the garage for a tune up. in the past couple of years I have done timing belt, ball joints, shocks, clutch, water pump, and shocks.

I have the chance to buy my grandparents 02 Sport Track. it has 157,000 miles on it. It has all power options and is 4wd. It just recently had a rear axle swap due to bad bearings eating into the axle. My grandfather is not the best when it comes to maintaining his truck. It needs a good tune-up a new set of tires, Some seat repair as the drivers seat has a small rip.

He is wanting to get rid of it and said he would sell it to me for 2500. Should I buy it? it would be really nice to have that extra row of seats and all the power options but I fear it will need some repairs soon. Like timing belt front end parts and shocks. I feel like I have spent a lot of time/money on my truck and I do not want to just toss it to the side but at the same time I would like to upgrade.....

Thoughts:icon_confused:

i would do it. i just upgraded from an 88 stx to a 97 explorer and i love it. i still have the 88 and not sure what i am going to do with it yet.

absolutely... my buddy has an 02 sport trac and i almost want to trade my 07 fx4 LII for it... other than the fact i could buy 2 of his sport tracs for what my truck is worth... they run about 6000 in canada for one about what you are saying yours is like...

mmmm so you are saying you wouldn't keep your 98 if you bought the sport trac? cause it would prolly be nice to have both just in case
