I have a 2000 B4000 (2wd). I currently have an OTC 4000e scan tool with the 2001 cartridge, and have used it on the Mazda. However, they quit making carts for this tool so it won't work on my newer car and I plan to upgrade to a PC based tool that requires one to purchase make-specific software packages rather than year-specific to access the enhanced features (ABS, SIR, HVAC, etc.)
So, my question: do I need the Ford software or the Mazda software for the B4000?
(nb: I searched this forum for the term "scan tool" and got exactly one hit, which inferred the Ford software would be appropriate).
