Bug Deflectors/Shields

I want a deflector for my 1999 XLT Super 4x4. However, everywhere I look I see them offered for 1998-2003 Rangers EXCEPT Edge & XLT. There is nothing special I know of about my hood that is different from an XL model. Am I missing something? What is the difference between the Edge, XLT & XL hoods when it comes to mounting a bug shield?

Do you have a shop near you that has them, If so will they let you try a test fit?

it could be the grille. that would be my only guess. call a ford dealer and ask if they list one for both, you just got to pretend your interested in buying it there.

it's says except xlt and edge because the 2001+ edge and xlt hood is the "powerdome" hood which is different from the xl or pre 2001 hoods. so, if you have a 1999 xlt, your good to go.

The base of Edge is the same as an XLT. There isn't an option you can't get on an XLT that you can't get on Edge. Now when you step up to a Edge Level II, then you can get more goodies.
