On my old 92 2.9L, it was on the block... front casting plug, driver's side.

Do you have a plug for one?

LOL, yeah, the plug is there, but not plugged in at the heater end. I'm looking for the damn thing in a dimly lit garage with a trouble light LOL

Of course the front diff gets in the way of easy access under there...

Check the freeze plugs on the side of the block that the heater wiring is on. It may not easily be seen, so you may have to get in there and feel for it. But once youve found it, youll know. Bottom line, check the freeze plugs on the sides of the block.

For the record, it's in the middle of the block on the passenger side; most easily reached through the wheel well.
