i need help to understand wheel travel for my ranger im getting 8in over 4x4 ibeams with 6in lift and need help with shocks and just general advice also advice for coilovers FOX or KING? im new to most this and on a buget
Dont be harsh

To measure wheel travel do this:
-support truck by the frame
-remove spring/shock/coilover
-place beam at full bump
-choose a point on the body (above hub) and take a measurment from that point to the center of the hub
-let the beam droop all the way down and take another measurement.
-do some math and that is your wheel travel

you could also use the ground as your point of reference instead of the body

what about the limits of the coil and shock as wheel both of those will limit travel up and down

up travel shouldn't be affected, if it is set up properly. You might limit down travel baised on where the mounts are on the beam and what size travel shock you use

ok thanks what do u think i should use for shocks king,fox,F.O.A... coilover or not?

also, you don't want the shock to be the limiting factor on wheel travel. that's what limiting straps are for :)
