finned diff cover?

What years and models came with an 8.8 independant rear axle? I am looking for the finned rear cover with the swing arm mounts and the drain and fill plug. Any help would be appreciated.

I beleive the IRS was first seen in 2001 or 2002 explorers/sport trac, but don't quote me on this...

this is correct. starting in 2001 explorers became available with IRS. the Sport version continued to use the solid 31 spline 8.8 up to and including 2002.
