Whats the largest tires that came factory on a ranger? I think the fx4 II came with 31s. I dont know about the stx high rider. Mine only came with crappy 215s on it.

265/75R15 (31x10.50R15) was available beginning in '93, and remained available probably at least through the '00 model. 245/75R16 (same dia. but slightly narrower) came in '98.
The '02 FX4 ('03up FX4 Level II) came with 31X10.50R15 BFG ATs.

Pretty sure the biggest tires available on any model before '93 was 215/75R15 (the D28 front axle would be marginal with anything bigger)

For a fairly stock truck you can go quite abit bigger than that, I have had 235/75-15's on mine for the entire 7 years I have had it with no problems.
