I want to install my Hi-Q 3/80-RT on my 1989 Bronco II. I don't have the external spare tire rack, so the mounting method a friend used on his won't work. I was thinking in terms of a bracket to mount to the rear bumper frame attachment bolt on the driver's side and put the antenna out from the body a ways to the left (so it'd clear the hatch), but not farther than the mirror, and up enough to get the loading coil clear of the roofline. A plastic bracket mounted to the rain gutter on that corner would stabilize the mast and keep it from pulling the mount or bumper loose.
Anyone else done anything like this? Anyone got any better suggestions?
