We made our way over to the Sunshine Coast on the first weekend of the month. Turned out to be anything but sunny.......

Ferry ride over should have been the first warning about the weather that we were going to see this weekend.

Stormy weekend on the Coast!

Our goal on the first day was to make it into the "Bible Camp" which is an old camp from the 70's that has been abandoned for many years.

Heading down the trail.

It was nice to have another Ford on the trails. Usually it is just me and a bunch of Jeeps. Was raining pretty good so ate lunch in the truck.

Made a quick detour to an old log dump to check out the view.

Uneventful trip back out after lunch. As we got close to the trail head the wind was blowing about 50mph by now. As we were airing up a local stopped to tell us that the road to the camp site was blocked by downed trees and power lines. This meant we had to head back up the FSR we just came down and take the long way back around to camp. What should have taken 10 minutes to get back to camp took almost an hour! And this is what we came back to....

A tree had fallen right onto the tent and the canopy ruining both. At this point we decided that camping was not such a great idea and we all found a place to stay for the night. A few guys had rented a cabin so I crashed with them but we had no power all night so a little wood stove kept us warm for the night. Next morning we awoke to a nice day!

We headed off to hit up some more trails. Needless to say we ran into some trees across the roads.

You have to wonder what the trail is like when you are heading down and you see stuff like this...
