I need help! My Mazda B4000 won't crank. Battery is good, connections are clean and tight. When I operate the key to "ON", the dash lights are bright, radio works, etc., but when I got to start, I get one clunk at the solenoid and everything goes dead. I had this problem on another vehicle and that turned out to be a loose cable at the starter. That doesn't seem to be the case with this one.

u have got to have a loose connection somewhere for it to do that or a wire broke.. did u check the ends ? make sure the connectors on the wires aint loose? thats all i can think of.. if it turns out to be different let me kno bro

How is your main chassis ground looking. Perhaps the movement of the engine 'clunking' is making the block ground move too.

please update your vehicle profile( look at mine for ideas)............if you have a standard suspect the clutch positioning switch. if you have a mm we can start telling you what to check......

Thanks for the suggestions, but while I was waiting for them, I found my problem. There was corrosion behind the chassis ground block causing an intermittent supply of current. Cleaned it up and away we go!

Woo! I guess right:D.

Glad you got it sorted.
