Basically I am going to college for a Degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in law enforcement. Im going to be a Junior next year and have yet to decide on a minor. Initially I was a history minor, then criminology minor.

Problem is my College advisor keeps telling me history is not a practical minor and wont help me get any also criminology is just theory, along with economics. All he has told me is that psychology wouldn't be bad but not the best.:annoyed:

My advisor is always pushing for accounting or spanish minor :annoyed: Now I know some of yall are law enforcement or former like Jim and I am just wondering, those of yall have a degree,

What did yall minor in?
Or what would yall suggest?

Just wondering cause this is getting irritating.

BTW, Once I graduate I leave for USMC OCC then go to OCS and once I get out of military I will be shooting for FBI, ATF, TBI, etc etc

Not in law enforcement, but a Spanish minor is helpful just about everywhere you go. It's the 2nd most spoken language in the world. I've gotten out of a few spots and gotten a few jobs with my ability to speak it, and I can't even do that well.

x2 on the espanol, no question about it, you shouldnt have even bothered asking, lol.

if there is any field where it would help to have a spanish background, it's LE. mexicans are everywhere you go these days. it's really an easy language to pick up also, from middle school through college i had about 4 years of it and i still remember it today.

academic advisors USUALLY know what they're talking about.

good luck with it, oh and when you're working for the FBI, DEA or whatever, dont arrest me, i promise it's for medicinal purposes.

Yea the spanish thing is what I figured I would have to try for. But I really didnt want to and been trying to go around it any way possible.

For me it just aint that easy and I study my ass off just for the intro class.
But ima just bite the bullet on this one and shoot for the spanish...I figure as long as I can make C's in my basic spanish classes then Ill just take history of spanish culture and other stuff to full fill the requirements.

aprender a hablar español

El espanol es mas facil de "accounting"

and I have taken both.

USMC = Arabic

Just kidding. Thanks for serving.

"easier than", but you were close.
