Today while out hunting I was forced to try out the 4 wheel drive..I went through some real gooey , soft muck. You have to be parked at least 20 foot off the main road and the swamp has recieved a ton of water.I was impressed as she just walked right through the stuff without spinning a tire. I would have never tried this with my 2 wheel drive Explorer Sport I just got rid of.
When only driving a few feet does it matter if I put in in 4 wheel high or 4 wheel low?

your ok with short distances in straight lines IIRC its when you turn things start Binding up and thats bad things will break then

Thanks..there is a weath of knowledge on this forum..I hope you guys never grow weary of the newbee quesions..I was surprised to see the Pioneer CD player in the truck when I bought it..It had 75,000 miles when I got it 3 weeks ago..I went to a Toyota place..and was looking for a Toyota..My wife saw this truck..the thngs that sold me was..

Sounds like you got a deal.I was surprzed to see a Sony Xplode in my plaine Jane XL trimm'd Ranger when I got it.
We were all n00bs once. Plus, we all remenber how our Ranger passion started. For some, it was on purpose, but for many others (like myself and you), it was a happy accident. 2 1/2 years ago, I was just looking for a decent set of wheels and a friend was looking to get ride of his Ranger because he was too big for it (6'5").
The Lord does answer prayers, and in my case, the answer was a purple '94 Ranger. Use your Ranger for the benfit of others & may it serve you and all you serve well for many years to come.
