My buddy bought an Old Range rover (i think, one of the big old 4dr land rovers) not sure on the year but its got round headlights....anyways, whats the approx weight on one of these things....i was wondering if my Expedition could handle it for the 100mi trip home or if i need to feed the duallly and take it.

I don't know exactly but they are fairly heavy. That being said, the bigger the tow vehicle the easier the trip.

Except on the pocket book lol. My 1 ton gets 6, the expy would get about 11 pry on the trip, but i guess ill take the dually and be on the safe side, i know my dually handled my Expedition like nothing, and i dont imagine it would be to much heaiver then that.

the expy would safely handle it. there is no way those weigh more than an FJ80 and those come in at 5900. is it the regular SUV looking one, a 4 door, 2 door, or the jeep looking one?

let me know how it works out. that should come in around 5000 pounds. I would use the expy (you have a 5.4L and 4r100 right?)
FJ80 is 4600# curb weight (http://www.tlc4x4.com/2000/SpecPages/fj80_specs.htm).
Range Rover like that is 4400# curb. (http://www.rangerovers.net/modelspecs/1990.html)
Neither is a challenge for any Expy.

think it still had the aluminum body and steel frame. not as heavy as it could be.

aren't expeditions rated to tow up to 10,000lbs? or maybe it was 10,000GVWR.. either way you'll be fine

I think its rated for like 8000lbs (well, 7800 or something to be exact). 5.4/E4OD.
I didnt know they were that light, i just seen them before and they looked heavy as hell lol.

I didn't think 4" lift, 33's and an empty 40gal tank added that much weight.
