hey i am looking at two sets of tires and rims. the one set i have on another thread kijji find. and another set are 31s x 10.5. would i be able to use the 31 without re gearing and would they fit on my truck. I own a 2wd 2002 ranger.

if your truck is stock height prolly not you would have no up tire travel if you managed to get them on there. and with your 4cyl it will be a dog trying to get up to highway speeds or even going up hills. you need about a 2-3in lift

If he has the EDGE package then they would fit and yes it would be much preferred that you regear even if you have 3.73's or 4.10's. You could always get the tires drive and see how bad it feels then regear. Atleast you only have to do one axle...

IF you don't have the edge package then I would assume you need about 2 - 3" of lift.

a 2" lift should do according to the tech library.
and for a 4 cyl a regear should be good.

i have 31 15 x 10 wide and i did not regear it. i have an edge. it is not enough power loss to regear.

yours is 3.0, his is 2.3
and all edge models already came with 4.10 gears, thats why u dont feel a power loss :icon_thumby:

With a 4 cyl. you would want to regear. I have a 4.0 and I am going to regear it. I just wanna keep my power.
