i have a 1991 ranger i just replaced the motor in, its been running fine but i just noticed it says it has no oil pressure.
wouldn't it have started to knock or something by now i have started and ran it a few times before i realized this, the needle doesnt move at all.
im thinking it could be a bad sending unit but im not sure any help is apreciated

You don't need help!! You have already fingered it out by yourself..

do you think thats it? seems to simple to me im gonna go tomorrow and switch the sending unit with the one on the other motor and see what happens, is there a way to test the sending unit to see if its working the wire doesnt seem to be in the greatest shape, i hope thats it because i dont feel like tearing this thing apart i just put it in

Its a $5 part...replace it.

If it had no oil pressure you would know it. It would be making all kinds of racket.

what i figured im gonna replace it tomorrow if im still having problems ill be back with more questions

The factory switch is all one needs to know about his pressure... It'll tell you if you got it and it'll tell you if you don't... For me a simple red light works too.
The oiling system in modern engines is so reliable no kind of gauge would prolly be as good as a wide range mechanical one..
