I have a set of Explorer rear brakes that i want to put on my full width 8.8. The caliper brackets bolt right on so i thought I would just drill the 5x5.5 bolt pattern into the rotor but the centric in the center is bigger on the FW axle. So i can have the center of the rotor turned bigger or find a different rotor. My first thought was a rotor off an 98 Expedition but it's a 13" rotor and mine are just over 11". Is there a Ford that had 11.25" non vented rotors with the 5x5.5 bolt pattern? Or should I turn the centers out on the Explorer disc's? Or sell the Explorer axle with the disc's and build something from scratch. RB

i just did a warn ford hub conversion on a buddies cherokee and i had to have a shop machine the inside of the rotor larger for the new hub.they took off about an eighth of an inch all the way around.there was still plenty of room around the jug nuts though.what about the axleshafts?is there sufficient material to machine the shafts so you don't need to turn rotors every time?

I just dropped them off at the local machine shop and i told him i would prefer the axles turned but that he could do it either way. I'll know what he did next week. RB
