Okay what the top 5 things i need to get tho mud? all mud? i was thinking(not in order)
1.31-35 MT Tires
2.3"+ lift
3.change gears
4.lockers
5.skid plate

BUt tell me what you guys think of.

well for real mudding you will need more HP. so Id start with a V8 swap. that 3.0 wont get you through anything
 
The biggest problem people make when building a mud truck is to low of a gear. You need hp but more importantly torque. The faster you can spin the tires the better they will clear out, which is where hp and rpm come in. You need torque to keep the tires turning, When you gear to low you loose wheel speed but gain torque so its all about finding the happy medium.

a mud bogger or a mud racer......plan to be in 4 lo or 4 hi????? it really makes a diffrence
 
skid plate is a must..im gonna make one for mine out of some diamond plate...last time i went muddin i was following a k5 blazer and his ruts were a little deeper than mine which caused me to rip off that plastic cover on the tranny cooler...BUT I DIDNT GET STUCK..lol
 
skinny pedal + tow points

I am guessing that because you're even considering running a max of 35" tires, that you're not building a one-purpose mud truck. Therefore, you should get a body lift, cut your fenders, regear, and add at least one front and rear tow point.

Saying that you want to get through "all mud" suggests that you should build a truck that is used ONLY in the mud. You are going to be looking at a lot more mods than you have listed.

One more thing, DO NOT go out tearing up the trails just so you can get your rig dirty. That is how the rest of us lose land to wheel on. Thanks. :)
