I replaced the lower ball joints on my 00 ranger 2wd with new moog joints. Easy money, but I couldn't get the upper ones out. Pressed and hammered, heated pressed and hammered, wouldn't budge. Are the ball joints and upper control arms one piece?

I do believe the newer upper control arms are one piece with the ball joints in them. It sucks to hear that but I am almost certain.

I think a new set with put you back about 100 bucks too. Not certain there either, but check around, you might be able to find a good set inexpensively.

I replaced my uppers. '98 model, I'm pretty sure it's the same arrangement. Press, big sockets for pushers, 15 tons to break the right loose, nearly 25 tons for the left. Has a retaining ring, IIRC.

But if the bushings are out too, it's cost-effective to just get complete arms.

Man thats alot of force on them ball joints, pretty sure I didnt put that much pressure on them. I may take the upper control arms off and try and press them out and see what happens.
