Lightning to a ranger

Has anyone tried stuffing the motor from a ford lightning into a later model ranger. I'd realy like to keep it street legal and pass the sfiffer test. If I get the motor,tranny,wireing harness, it should be just a strait forward engine swap right?

if by straight foward you mean custom eveything, cause its a supercharged 5.4 if I'm correct and those are a mile tall, wide, and long...do it tho, that would melt tires like cutting thru vaporized butter

I think it was also in one of the MM&FF mags.

I have the Lightning blower sitting in my garage waiting to be installed when the let me have it poke out the hood (not legal here)
