Hey guys,

I've got 92 Ranger 2WD, 5spd with the 4.0. It has been a great engine and never given me any quirks until this winter. It has set a lot this year. I just got it back on the road. After driving it for a few weeks, I parked it again for a month. I went to start it and it fired right up, nothing funny. I pushed in the clutch, put it in 1st, started to let up on the clutch and BAM. Engine dies. No sputtering, just dead. Try to start it up after that, no luck. It's getting fuel, fuel pump cycles on and I can smell gas, but I think it's not getting spark. Are the ECUs prone to failure on these trucks? I know mine has a water leak into the cab on both sides by the kick panels. My ECU looks a bit corroded. Weird part is that I can go back out the next day and fire it right back up. As soon as I go to take off, it dies again.

I tried messing with the battery cables, the power distribution box, and neither affect it at all while it's running. At first I thought I had a poor connection at the main ECU fuse, but cleaned the terminals and I can't get it to die unless I try to take off in gear.

Anyone else had this issue?

Another oddity-i have a 92 Ranger EVTM that shows relays at the PDB, but i've got Maxi Fuses there instead. Where is my main EEC relay at?
