i've been a lurker in these forums for awhile, great community.

I have a 2001 Ford ranger v6 4.0l sohc, I love this truck :) but have some problems

I have this issue i've been trying to nail down for awhile and have had some luck but not much with what i've done. Basically what happens is around 500rpms to 1000rpms theres a "shudder" or vibration kinda like it slips? This has been going on since around 50k miles I currently have 70k, now another thing similar has been happening along with it. When slowing down going into first gear theres a surge in rpms it flucuates from 500 to 1000 then drops. I take great care of the truck and love it, this issue does not have too much impact on its performance its an annoyance for the most part. Heres what i've done recently

oil change + filter
tranny fluid + filter change
MAF sensor cleaned
air filter
Iac replaced
EGR valve replaced
fuel filter
new park plugs + wires
PCV valve replaced
Checked for vaccum leak nothing seen
Throttle body cleaned
fuel injectors cleaned
radiator flush
new drive belt

A few other recent issues that have came up that im more worried about

Theres a thud in the engine compartment i can hear when in park/idle/stopped i open the hood and the wheel in front of the AC compressor stops then spings repeating. could the clutch in it be dead or something?? I dont see any performance decrease in this issue either just curious what the hell it is

Last thing that im most worried about is more and more it seems when engaging gears Drive to reverse reverse to drive etc.. its taking longer to engage. It used to just pop right into drive and start rolling foward now it kinda makea a thud for a second or two then engages. This has me worried that my tranny is on its way to shitting the shitter.

Anyway any help would be awesome for these problems! Thank you so much guys!

how many miles do you have on it
it is normal for the compressor to engage and disengage
