No.... but if you turn it up, you'll probably end up with blown speakers. Just keep the volume reasonable.

youll have no problems at all, but you will notice how crappy your stock speakers are.

to find out what headunits will fit just go to crutchfield.com and go to "outfit my car". will tell you what size headunits will fit. find one you like and buy elsewhere. crutchfield is overpriced. as far as speakers, you have 6x8s.

Pioneer 3-ways are nice and are very clear. Also check out polks, and kicker comps.

+1 on the Polks. I'm getting ready to put a set 5.25 components in my front doors. gonna put the 5.25's in the factory holes with an adapter and then mount the twiters up higher on the door, maybe by the a-pillars.

I know Pioneer makes speakers that are a custom fit for Rangers/Mazdas. I have a pair and they're nice.

I have kenwoods in my front doors and they are 5x7's. usually the 5x7's will fit in the 6x8 slot, but not the other way around.

they vary by manufacturer. some companies call them 5x7 or 6x8, even if theyre the same size.

Well on my 97 ext cab, i have 5x7 in the front. You cannont put 6x8 up front. In the back the stock speakers are 5x7 with a mounting plate. If you take that mounting plate off, you can fit 6x8 in the back.

I have those too and they're great. They work perfectly for what I need plus they're clear sounding for the most part.

Back to the task at hand, you'll have no problem running stock speakers on an aftermarket head unit. I did it for almost 4 months till I blew my speakers. It took a lot longer than I had thought so it depends on your luck and the level you love your sound at.
