So, my tail pipe fell off, took the muffler with it.
came up to a stop sign after the really rough backroad i like to play on, went to take off, truck was louder than it should be, so i started to pull over and heard a metal on pavement scraping sound.
i pulled it onto the dirt and as soon as i did i felt the truck jump and slammed the brakes, got out, and saw my tail pipe wrapped around the axle and my muffler laying (pristine, mind you) on the ground a foot behind my bumper.
tailpipe was a loss so i snapped it in half, took it off the axle, and got rid of it, saved the muffler, and drove to down with a three inch straight pipe.
Loudest worst running truck ever.
Last time i did my own exhaust this same thing happened back with my 88.
Exhaust rule 1: i am no longer allowed to work on my own exhaust system.
Bonus points to be had: getting a 2 1/4 system put on from the h-pipe back.
